Permaculture Workshop

  • Casa de Zenue Rua Pica de Cima N173 3720-351 Portugal (map)

Join us for an immersive 2-day experience learning Permaculture practices tailored for Northern Portugal.

Permaculture is an ecological design system aimed at creating sustainable, productive, and resilient environments inspired by natural processes. It is based on three ethical principles: care for the Earth, care for people, and fair sharing of surplus.

Using practices like agroforestry, composting, and rainwater harvesting, permaculture aims to establish closed cycles and efficient systems. With 12 design principles—such as observing the environment and valuing renewable resources—permaculture applies not only to agriculture but also to everyday life, promoting a conscious, balanced lifestyle in harmony with the ecosystem.

SKILLS FOR SUSTAINABILITY & COMMUNITY

Join us for an immersive 2-day experience learning Permaculture practices tailored for Northern Portugal, in Vila de Cucujães.

  • English course with Portuguese translation available.

  • The permaculture workshop begins at 9:00am and concludes at 6:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, lunch is served at 1pm.

  • Includes lunch in the price.

This program is for you if you feel that permaculture is the path to follow, but you're looking for a solid foundation of knowledge and practical skills.

At Casa de ZENue, we support one another in a gentle transition towards a more sustainable and harmonious way of life. Here, we connect with nature, ourselves, and the community around us through hands-on experiences and practical tools. Permaculture is accessible to everyone who’s open to seeing challenges as opportunities—it’s not just for farmers or those living in rural areas. No matter where or how you live, and whatever your circumstances, together we’ll discover that each of us has valuable skills that can be applied daily to make a positive impact on the planet.

Throughout the course, you’ll dive into the world of permaculture, exploring its core principles and ethics. We’ll cover topics such as gardening, natural building, community living practices, sustainable technology, and much more. To keep the learning engaging and effective, we blend theory with practical activities. On the first day, we’ll take a tour around Casa de ZENue, where we’ll introduce the space, share our lifestyle, and explain the sustainable solutions we’ve implemented.
